CLIMB KILIMANJARO
Mount Kilimanjaro, known as “The Roof of Africa”, is the highest mountain in Africa, capped with snow, and the world’s highest free-standing volcanic mountain. Located in Tanzania, East Africa, it rises to an elevation of 19,341 ft (5,895 m). It is the largest freestanding mountain in the world and one of the Seven Summits. Mount Kilimanjaro is a stratovolcano consisting of three distinct volcanic cones: Kibo, the highest point at 5,895 meters; Mawenzi at 5,149 meters; and Shira at 3,962 meters. Of the three peaks, Kibo is dormant but could potentially erupt again, while Mawenzi and Shira are extinct. The last major eruption occurred approximately 360,000 years ago, with the most recent volcanic activity dating back 200 years. Climate change has significantly affected the glaciers on Kilimanjaro, which are rapidly shrinking due to global warming. The glacier has lost 82% of its size since 1912 and has declined by 33% since 1989. It is predicted to be ice-free by 2030. Climbing Kilimanjaro is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that no one can forget. We offer a range of tourism activities including mountain climbing, mountain cycling, crater camping, Shira Plateau day visits, and nature walks in the mountain forest. Book with us to experience a safe, successful, and unforgettable climb.

Can anyone climb Kilimanjaro?

Anyone over the age of 10, including older generations in their 60s and 70s, can climb Kilimanjaro. All you need is patience, determination, and the strong will to reach the summit. Our guides are highly skilled professionals dedicated to ensuring your safe and successful ascent to the top.

Can beginners climb Kilimanjaro?

Kilimanjaro isn’t a technical climb, making it perfectly possible for beginners as well as experienced climbers. You just need to be physically fit and have the right equipment.

When is the best time to climb Kilimanjaro?

Trekking activities on Kilimanjaro are influenced by two dry seasons and two rainy seasons. The best time to climb Kilimanjaro is during the dry seasons, from June to October and from December to March, when the weather is clear, sunny, and dry.

April to May and November are wet months, marking the rainy seasons when trekking is generally avoided. However, if you decide to climb during this time, don’t despair, as it doesn’t rain every day. The advantage of climbing during the rainy season is the quiet and peaceful environment.

Which is the best route for climbing Kilimanjaro?

There are seven established routes up Kilimanjaro. Most routes start from the southern side of the mountain, with one starting from the northern side and another from the northeast. Some routes merge with others along the way. Choosing the best route depends on several factors: acclimatization, crowd levels, safety, success rates, type of accommodation, the number of days you want to spend on the mountain, and your budget.

Considering these factors, the best route with the highest success rate and most scenic views is the Lemosho Route. The best routes for acclimatization are the Lemosho, Northern Circuit, and Machame routes. The route with the best overall qualities on Kilimanjaro is the Rongai Route, while the most difficult routes to the summit are the Marangu and Rongai routes. Regarding accommodation, only the Marangu Route offers huts, while the remaining routes are for camping.
